Tata Steel Chess 2016, Round 10: Caruana, Adams and Eljanov move a point up

Grandmasters Fabiano Caruana, Michael Adams and Pavel Eljanov each won their matches for the day.  Caruana closes the gap between him and the current leader GM Magnus Carlsen by 0.5 points and leaves GM Anish Giri a full point behind.

Caruana defeated Yi Wei in a 31-move game which started in the Ruy Lopez.

Sergey Karjakin locked the center and tried to launch a kingside attack but Adams’ queenside pawns paved the way for the invading Black Queen.

Pavel Eljanov outmaneuvered Yifan Hou in the endgame.
