Here is my first unrated game at chess.com which demonstrates how playing gambits can be very tricky especially if you just keep reacting to your opponent’s moves.

1. e4 e5 2. f4
{The King’s Gambit is one of the oldest gambits in history. One of my personal favorites.} exf4 3. Bc4
{[#] I usually play the traditional 3. Nf3 which effectively prevents 3. .. Qh4+. Don’t get me wrong. 3. Bc4 is a good, adventurous move if you are careful but to show how bad it could be if you do not play accurately, you could lose the game very, very quickly.}
Qh4+ 4. Kf1 (4. Ke2 {Useless since White will be forced to f1 anwyay. Better to go to f1 directly and maybe castle by hand later.} d6 5. Nf3 Bg4 6. Kf1 {[#] White is now in very big trouble.})
4... Nf6 {Attacking e4 and planning possible Qf2 mate later on.} (4... d6 {Houdini and Stockfish are in agreement that this is the best move.}) 5. Nc3 {White defends the e4-pawn.} Ng4 6. Nf3 $4 Qf2# {[#] Good thing this was an unrated game. Heh.}
